When using technology in the classroom, it is especially important to keep in mind the concept of digital access. This concept is rooted in the reality that not all technology users, especially students, have access to the same technologies. Equitable digital access means that each student gets equal access to the same technology, regardless of economic or social status.

Equitable digital access can provide endless opportunities for student learning and growth. |
A lack of digital access, digital exclusion, can make it difficult for students to excel in a technology centered classroom. Classroom technology could include iPads, computers, laptops, smartphones, etc. To ensure equitable digital access in your classroom you must give each student equal class time to work with technology. To ensure that each student has equal access to technology, one strategy is to develop either a daily or weekly schedule for technology use. A schedule gives students the knowledge that they will have a set time to use technology and what technology they will be using.
